Joe Fattorini is competing in the Medoc Marathon with Jamie Ramsay, adventure runner.
This is a full marathon where every mile there is a chateau offering a sample of their latest vintage to all the competitors.
With the mercury hitting 30 degrees C and Joe in fancy dress, things don’t work out quite as Joe hoped.
When I was younger there was more of me to love yes that really is me I decided to take up running and tomorrow I’m competing in what can only be described as the ultimate race for wine lovers It’s no ordinary race along the route of the annual Murdoch marathon there are 23 world famous château serving their wines to thirsty runners now this is going to be quite a challenge so I bench a runner Jamie Ramsay has offered to run with me for moral support
This year the Murdoch marathon has a fairy tale fancy-dress theme I know I know this is stretching it for a fairy tale theme and I’m really hoping the forces with us or me at least At 9:00 a.m. Jamie and I joined eight and a half thousand wine loving runners I tell you on this so pace could do ten hours on it it’s already feet are feeling a bit already Italian and this is the first Chateau where I am going to have my first drink of red wine
In 1415 months excited so were five kilometers in it’s been over a year since I’ve had a glass of red wine and I have to say I wanted to make it a spectacular occasion and it could there be a more spectacular setting to have a Worcester wine
I’m really excited you are gonna like a lot right you have a swirl in a snip Are you feeling the Falls oh I am feeling the force that is amazing [Laughter]
