2021 Le Fat Bastard Rose Wine Tasting – from France comes this interesting Grenache & CInsault based wine.
Flavors of strawberries, melon & citrus/grapefruit. Sweetness & acidity are spot on for this wine. There is a hint of minerality & grass. Easy drinking wine. We would give this a 3.7/5 and “just” gets a recommended from us. For the $$$ there are better value wines but this was fun to try!
From the winemakers website:
Blend of Grenache & Syrah grapes. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes go through the crusherdestemmer and are then divided: one part going to the pneumatic press, while the other part is put into stainless steel tanks until the juice reaches the perfect colour. The two parts are then blended at the end of alcoholic fermentation, the malolactic fermentation is stopped to keep freshness and acidity
One on this wine tour today we’re heading to France for a bottle of this no joke Fat Bastard 2021 rosé wine that’s a fun little name it’s a great name uh one of the wine makers he uses the expression Fat Bastard to describe things that are great my wife is great
But I won’t call her that word cuz I’d be dead seriously come on seriously okay time to have this in okay Cheers Cheers nice nose in that smells nice melon honeysuckle maybe yeah taste it absolutely it’s light and easy y it is um thank you being funny uh melon strawberries
Getting Citrus like grapefruit yeah a little bit of minerality yep light light acid yeah it’s a blend with three different grapes uh definitely a fun wine I think it’s going to Parell popcorn yeah it’s easy to drink absolutely okay we’re going to crush this one you guys have a great rest of
