Vintage 2003 celebrating our 20th anniversary this year this comes off of a really really beautiful little Vineyard right in the heart of the Oak Knoll District we grow Merlot and sarab surroundly represents about two acres on this Four Acre Vineyard site and the site itself is very near and dear to the
Heart of both John and Michelle truchard this is actually one of the first plantings that John ever did way back in the 90s and planted it to Michelle’s parents property so this wine really is coming of age it’s it’s it’s showing its maturity in The Vines and what I
Couldn’t think of a better sight to produce reserved Syrah from as with all of our single Vineyard wines this is Barrel fermented in 100 French Oak but in this vintage only about 80 percent of which is new that helps to really bring some of those grainy tannins together
And allows that fruit to shine through I just think this one’s absolutely exceptional there’s no doubt about that Dave uh this is another All-Star on our team as we like to joke I love this Syrah specifically in the reserve because uh it is indicative to the wines
Of the northern Rhone reminds me of those wines a little more fruit forward power here you know koroti Coronas all these beautiful places we love and that goes into the aromatics um the The Cracked Pepper those cured meats olives it’s herbaceous and all the black fruits Blackberry black cherry black raspberry
Um the tannin structure has this slatey graphite characteristic in terms of food pairings uh anything over the fire anything uh like a wood fire anything from leg of lamb to a cheeseburger this wine will sing and having mentioned the northern Rome uh the Clone itself is Armitage clone
Um and boy now some of the oldest finds in the portfolio like you were saying really showing themselves this 2019 Reserve Syrah we produce just a hundred cases of at 175 dollars a bottle we hope that it makes its way to you we will also be offering wish list requests upon release cheers
