Listen to Marc Hoffmann from Marrenon talk about their wines from the Luberon in South Rhone France at the Vancouver International Wine Festival 2014

Hey i’m here with mark hoffman who’s the director of sales for uh marinon out of uh of the luber in southern roman valley there you go well tell me about uh some of the wines uh that you have or that you’re you’ve brought to uh the wine festival sure so

First of all hello everybody i’m really happy to be uh the vancouver wine show it’s the first time i i attended the show it’s a really it’s been a great uh great uh great great show um the wines here that i’m presenting are very unique they come from a very unique terroir of

The southern rhone valley uh called the libero the liberal being a mountain so all of our vineyards are planted on the slopes of the liberal mountain which means that we have a very fresh climate which brings a lot of freshness and elegance to the wines so either it’s red

White or rose you’ll find a very common backbone to all of our wines a lot of ripe fruits exuberant aromas but always backed up with very nice freshness and acidity okay i see you have a wine here in your hand so maybe you can let us know what

What we were looking at there definitely this is a perfect example of what a white liberal should taste like uh it’s a blend of grenache and vermontino that is uh unified in traditional way in stainless steel tanks so what we look for here is really a crisp fresh uh

Wine with a lot of acidity a very nice wine for everyday consumption on its own on the patio during the summer with sushi any kind of fish it’s a really a great wine that you can find for a very uh very uh affordable price i would say great value okay and just one

Last question i see you you also have red yes uh which grape varieties do you use for your red wine so we use traditional round valley grapes mainly syrah and garnish okay fantastic thank you very much you’re welcome thank you
