How to Pronounce Beaujolais Nouveau:

Video Content & Transcription:
What is up guys? Julien here, the French winemaking guy who makes wine videos here on YouTube. This is Episode 4 of a video series about everything you need to know about Beaujolais Nouveau. And we’re looking at the most important question about Beaujolais Nouveau:
When does it come out? When is it released? When is Beaujolais Nouveau festival Celebrated?
Now one of the important aspects of the Beaujolais Nouveau, beyond the fact that it’s one of the very first wines from the Northern Hempishere to be released every year as we talked about in the previous episode, is that the release of Beaujolais Nouveau happens on the same date worldwide. No one can taste the New Beaujolais before that date, anywhere, meaning that wineries have to plan shipping the wines in advance to the United States, Japan, Asia, Australia or even New Zealand and I lived in New Zealand and it’s even celebrated there, so it’s ready to sell and to drink on the given day.
All wine retailers have to hold on to the wine once they receive it and they’re not allowed to start selling it before the D-Date.
So when is the Beaujolais Nouveau Festival Day?
Well, it’s simply the Third Thursday of November every year. So the date itself changes yearly, somewhat like Easter. In 2019, Beaujolais Nouveau will be celebrated on Thursday 21st of November.
Next year in 2020, it’ll be on Thursday the 17th of November.
If you’re interested in learning more about what is Beaujolais Nouveau, I made a video about it, linking to it at the end of this one.
Make sure to watch the next episode of the series to learn what temperature to serve your Beaujolais Nouveau at…
I will see you soon in the wonderful world of wine. Cheers….
