I eat at and review Le Jardinier, a Michelin Starred seasonally inspired French restaurant in Midtown Manhattan of New York City. Le Jardinier is the French word for “gardener,” and as a result, the restaurant puts a strong focus on vegetables and seasonality. The establishment is also known for their beautifully crafted plates of food, especially their desserts.

About Me: I live in NYC and I’m about food, travel and work.
Located in Midtown Manhattan lard is a Michelin stared restaurant that not only serves delicious but truly stunning looking food in a beautifully designed dining room The Establishment also offers a somewhat affordable set menu for lunch and I just had to try It it’s beautiful day here in New York City right now I’m at Central Park and I’m just enjoying some of the wonderful fall scenery the leaves here are just amazing now most of them have already fallen off the trees but still Central Park in the fall is a magical place now speaking of
Magical I went to a Michelin stared restaurant for lunch where I had some very fine food in addition I may have just seen a CEO of one of the most powerful companies in the entire world who was also dining at the restaurant I went to today for my lunch I ate at the
Le in French Le translates to the gardener now that name is very appropriate since the restaurant puts a large emphasis on vegetables as opposed to Meat and Fish it’s not a vegetarian restaurant but vegetables are really the star of the plate I wanted to go to Le
Jardier for a few reasons one I want to go to Every Michelin stared restaurant two the pictures of their food on Instagram look absolutely stunning true works of art and three well I have a reason to celebrate yesterday I just crossed the 20,000 subscriber mark on my
YouTube channel and I’m very proud of that I really put a lot of time and effort into every one of my videos so it really means a lot to me when people actually watch my videos and with that being said onwards to 30k anyways this was my launch at Le Jardier BL jardinier opened in 2019 inside a modern residential Tower in Midtown Manhattan The Establishment comes from Chef Aline veroli who previous prly spent over two decades working for one of the world’s greatest chefs the late Joel Rashon in the 2020 Michelin guide Lu Jardin earned its
Michelin star and has maintained it to this day the restaurant has also expanded Beyond New York City to open locations in both Houston and Miami it even earned a Michelin star in Miami’s Michelin guide I arrived to lardier on a weekday right as it open for lunch it’s an absolutely beautiful restaurant The
Establishment describes the space as a modern greenhouse and that certainly comes across I noticed that there was an odd sort of glass tube on the table and I was curious as to what it could be but soon after fiddling with it I realized it was a light design-wise it’s clear that the
Restaurant was thought out in every respect with an eye towards modernity and a visual aesthetic of the menu’s ethos seasonality and respect for produce is the guiding principle of luard and that certainly comes across in their selection of food I was particularly attracted to the two course $58 executive lunch menu and while
That’s not exactly cheap it does allow one to save some money money compared to how the courses are normally priced of course only two dishes wouldn’t be enough for me so I did order a couple more items allak cart in terms of beverages L jardinier has a pretty solid
Wine list with offerings from throughout the world but with the best selection being from France some highlights include a 2014 DRC for $188,500 and a 2000 petruse Pomo for $99,500 however I just stuck with water for my lunch first up was the bread and there are two different kinds both of the
Offerings were certainly A Step Above than the typical plane rolls provided in many restaurants they were both warm and fresh and had good flavor I was also given some quality olive oil and butter to pair with the bread while the RS were pretty small one could simply get more bread by asking it
Was a nice start to my lunch for my first course I got a salad with chores a creamy Parmesan dressing green apples and pine nuts while chores may look just like lettuce they are different plants in fact chores have a slight but pleasing bitter Edge however
I doubt most people would notice much of a difference in flavor especially with this salad since the other components of the dish certainly make their presence known the creamy Parmesan dressing gives a sense of richness while the apples lend a pleasant Sweetness my waiter described the dish as being like a caesar salad but I felt that wasn’t the best description as there’s a lot more too the course than the typical Caesar it wasn’t mind-blowingly good but it was nevertheless a satisfying and delightful Salad I also thought that it was a pretty fair portion size especially considering that I saw numerous photos of the J’s food before my visit and I thought many of those dishes looked somewhat small all in all it was a good salad but it was time for the main course I went with the wild mon talk Bass with broccolini a pine not galada and lemon the presentation of the course was beautiful one could clearly see how important the vegetables are to the plate as they lovingly cradle the fish but the bass could certainly stand
On its own as it was perfectly cooked it was nice and Flaky and had a crispy skin however the dish is really a success with the combination of all the flavors on the plate that savory green sauce had so much flavor to it and took the fish to another Level the broccolini was pleasant and I enjoyed the pine nuts even though I had a fair share of those in the previous course out of all the food I consumed at L the bass was my favorite however it’s clearly not the largest portion so I paired it with a
Side I got the grilled marble potatoes with Nori and crem fresh It was decent but I thought it could have been a little better I appreciated the variety of marble potatoes in the dish which lent unique flavors but also an assortment of pleasing colors the potatoes were cooked just right but only became truly delectable with the addition of the sauce on the bottom of
The bowl it was a good Savory and Rich sauce but I thought it could have been a bit more powerful while I was eating the dining room really began to fill up to my surprise I noticed that one of the customers looked exactly like Apple’s CEO Tim Cook I always experience a
Moment of disbelief anytime I think I might have spotted a celebrity in the wild I mean shouldn’t Tim Cook be somewhere in Silicon Valley between courses I subtly looked up photos of Tim Cook on my phone to compare this individual seated at the other end of the restaurant and they looked just like
Him still I wasn’t 100% confident that it was actually Tim Cook but the experience did provide a bit of entertainment after finishing both my main and side it was time for dessert while not as extensive as the dinner menu dessert offerings there are still some decent options available for
Lunch the desserts are the product of executive pastry chef salvator Monon who is a true master of his craft I knew exactly what I was going to order since before I went to l jard i viewed a video of Chef Marton creating the restaurant’s warm apple tart which was exactly what I
Chose the dessert was stunning and it true work of art a dizzying spiral of infused apple peels made up of gorgeous Rose well I’ve certainly had other courses that were fashioned to resemble of flour L’s example was among the most exciting the dish consisted of Parisian fla cacao nibs and ginger ice
Cream it tasted as good as it looked the dessert was fantastic the tart was baked just right and the creamy flavors inside were excellent I also really like the ginger ice cream it was perfectly balanced and went nicely with the crumble now it did feel a little sinful
To dissect such a beautiful dessert but the most important Culinary Artistry always comes down to the flavor and the dish certainly tasted Amazing after finishing it was time for the bill which was presented in a very aesthetically pleasing way my lunch set me back $958 but with my tip I spent around 115 bucks that wasn’t cheap but it was less than what dinner probably would have cost and I did enjoy the food from the
Cuisine service and Decor there’s no question about it l is a good restaurant so that was a pretty fine lunch I really enjoyed all my food especially that fish oh that was delicious and that dessert wow that was a work of art now I do wish I could have
Gone for dinner I’ll definitely do that in in the future but it’s clear the dinner menu is where the best food is at I mean some of those desserts the really stunning ones are not available on the lunch menu but I don’t have any regrets because I still enjoyed a fantastic
Lunch today and there’s still a lot of great options on that lunch menu now if lunch is good enough for a billionaire like Tim Cook it should be good enough for everyone I’m not 100% sure that that was actually Tim Cook I’m like 90% sure either way it was definitely someone who
Looked just like Tim Cook anyways at the end of the the day I enjoyed a great lunch the food was really good the service was solid and the decor was wonderful I’ll definitely be back to l Jard

Nothing better than a good pickle 🥒
Here's to your continued success and delicious meals in 2024!🎉🎉
Just make ur channel name MichelinBoi and brand it with merch. you gonna be in a tent living on that michelin diet when the economy crashes this year
Congrats!!
You should have gone up to Cook and said "Oi Mister Cook, subscribe now sir, you'll love my channel more than this food ". You should also have slapped his face for extra emphasis
Congratulations on 20k..now 24 k!
I've been watching since around 2k maybe and you definitely are getting good at this!
Merry Christmas and I hope that next year shows a lot more growth!
Thanks!
ok you got a fish stick as your main meal and paid 12 dollars for a bowl of potatoes and 18 dollars for someones work of art on an apple. The only thing that looked good was the salad. Why do people pay this kind of money is beyond my comprehension. But then again I dont make the money you make so I guess it's like buying a cheesburger at 5 guys. I am not taking away from you r vids but damn not many people can afford this casual executive lunch.
yet another great video, love your reviews, just discovered your channel a few days ago and I've been binging on your videos
Congrats on 20k! It’s so well deserved and I have no doubt you’ll continue to climb with your subscriber count. Thanks for all the effort you put into your content!
wow, 20K already? That's great James, congrats. Your reviews are really good. Simple, to the point and filled with a bunch of foodie lingo. I appreciate that style of delivery. Cheers
Compared to so many other joints J hits, this one looked pretty underwhelming. Again, comparatively. Those spuds did not look appetizing.
I’m glad he went on the cheap & minimized cost damage, yet maximized his sit time. 😄✌️(The apples DID look great in that salad, though. 🤷♂️)
First off!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!😊 Thank you for sharing a grest place to eat!😊😊 Congratulations for your video level.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Like dining with you! From CA
An excellent 29k sub celebration 🍾 with mellow music to match the relaxing meal. Next time, need to order that $18.5k bottle!
I took a couple snapshots of the menu and oh boy, a risotto for $36, veggies at $12, starters ranging from $19 to $36 so under the circumstances you getting the 2 plate "special" for $58 made sense. Thank you for your review, our chance to take a closer look at the menu and your input as to your dining experience! Those potatoes looked like they needed a little sea salt even with the sauce…..
In the world we live in, with all the want for peace, I could never bring myself to spend almost 20 thousand dollars on a selfish experience. It would drive me to tears, knowing that I could have bought coats for cold kids, but instead opted for a bottle of fancy grape juice.
You have a new fan in me
Merry Christmas Evening to you!! Thank you for sharing this lunch scene. The salad with bread is very nice!! Your selection of the fish meal looked very good! And the dessert looked like heaven. I, I, guess I would have liked a white table cloth underneath the plates. Sometimes when people have to cut meat or pasta dishes, you have to use a little more strenght to cute thus moving your plate a little bit!! And I also hope the tsble are wiped clear!! Sometimes you may see glass water stains and other left sauce stains. Yeah, that is alittle high priced for lunch but I would go there. I have been to many places for lunch and I have spent $40 to $60 dollars for myself!😊 I wonder fir dinner there would the wait staff places white table cloth on the table?
For our NYC trip I am choosing three of the high end eateries you have been to. I've already selected Keen's and Don Angie. What's number 3? 🤔
I hope you took the pen 🖊️ home 😂
Perhaps cut your food into bite-sized pieces? Did you watch yourself eating the salad?
Yes, lovely looking salad! If that was Tim Cook, I would have sent his table an Appletini cocktail. (Joke.)
Congrats James! Your videos are fun to watch. Your ability to let us see your enjoyment when dining is clearly visible and helps convey to us viewers just how special your experiences are.
Congrats on hitting 20K subs James. Very well deserved. Nice review today. Given your experiences in NYC, you might want to consider doing a video of NYC Restaurant week participants where diners could get exceptional value given your guidance. Best to you in 2024 and beyond.
You had me with the Montauk Bass and chicory salad with radicchio. Sumptuous! Touché James.
Congratulations on 20k!
Keep it up Jimmy!
Congratulations on your YouTube subscriptions moving upwards!!! I didn’t think the presentation of the bass was all that appealing. But as long as it tasted good, then that is what counts. The potatoes looked delicious with that sauce. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations to you. Keep up the good work. 👍 🎄🌟🍀
Loved this one! Such a nicely done review which bookends beautifully with their gorgeous food presentation. Thank you for your creative effort.
James, you're the best. I could watch your videos for hours. All the best for 2024, buddy !!🎉🎉🎉🎉
amazing video. Appreciate you taking the time during the holidays to pump out videos still.
Congrats on 20K subscribers, here's wishing you 20K more in 2024!
Congrats on 20k, though nearly 25k now! I wondered why you were referring to chicory as chicories and then saw that that is what the restaurant call it on its menu – bit weird as it's its own plural… Food looked good but not quite enough to make it onto my wishlist for my next visit to NYC (which is already an undoable 8 restaurants strong anyway!).
Congrats on 20k. Some of the best foodie content out there. Absolutely look forward to your videos.
Another solid video my dude ❤
Not that expensive considering it's a Michelin star resto
You don't need the annoying music
Your channel is blowing up, congrats! You deserve it.
Love your channel – wish you did at least three reviews a week! Someone in the comments called you a food critic and I’d say that’s pretty spot-on! I’ve enjoyed watching your subscribers rise, been around since the 6000 mark. You’ll be to 100K in no time. Your reviews are so well executed. Plus you’re kinda nice to look at, which doesn’t hurt, either!😊 Happy Holidays and Happy New Year – 2024 will be good to your channel.
