In our house, we love all breakfast foods, french toast being our favorite for any time of day. (yes, we totally have breakfast for dinner!) This PUMPKIN FRENCH TOAST recipe adds seasonal flavor AND our favorite Hawaiian sweetbread.
GET COOKIN’:
🍞 ½ cup pumpkin puree
🍞 4 eggs
🍞 ⅔ cup milk
🍞 1 tsp vanilla extract
🍞 2 Tbsp sugar
🍞 1 tsp ground cinnamon
🍞 ¼ tsp nutmeg
🍞 12 sweetbread rolls
🍞 oil or cooking spray
Add pumpkin, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to a medium-sized bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Heat a frying pan to low-medium heat, or a griddle to 350F. Lightly grease with oil or cooking spray. Dunk a bread roll in the pumpkin mixture, covering each side. Gently let excess batter drip off, then grill on each side until golden.
Serve immediately with your favorite French toast toppings!
