We’ve got you, girl. We know that sometimes you want to throw down and make an absolutely show-stopping meal for date night, a dinner party, or even a random Tuesday, but you might not have 24 hours of prep time and a kitchen full of fancy ingredients. That’s why we made Coq au Vin – to help you channel your inner Julia Child without all the fuss. Make this classic French stew in 20 minutes using the blend plus chicken, wine (or a non-wine liquid), mushrooms, and one carrot, all in one pot. Too easy!

Coq au Vin’s rich, nuanced taste comes from a mix of inactive nutritional yeast, thyme, dried carrot pieces, “bacon” and tomato powder. And, of course, red wine – added during cooking.
The blend is bacon-free but bacon-flavored. It’s made with our signature imitation bacon using pinto bean flakes. (Check out our Better Than Bacon Topper)
No marinating required – chicken thighs quickly absorb flavors from the blend.
The traditional recipe uses 12 + ingredients. With Epicure, you just need five!
Prep Tips:

Follow the recipe on the pack for stew. Chicken thighs have the best flavour.
Make with wine, dealcoholized wine or swap in chicken broth. For a milder flavour (and more wine to drink at dinner!) use half each wine and broth.
Shave cost and make with bone-in chicken instead of boneless – just add on extra simmering time so it cooks through.
Love a creamy stew? Swap wine for half broth and cream.
Use dry blend as a bouillon to make chicken noodle soup or blend into burgers, meatloaf or any recipe that calls for ground meat.
The blend is very thyme-forward making it a great seasoning for roasted root veggies, like carrots, parsnips and potatoes.
