After a two-year legal battle over a winery estate, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a settlement.

After two years of litigation, Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have settled their long-running feud over the French winery estate known as Chateau Miraval. The former power couple has apparently decided to try mediation instead of continuing their legal feud, as evidenced by paperwork filed with the court last week.

After Angelina Jolie sold half of her share of the Chateau Miraval estate to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, owner of the Stoli brand in 2021, Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit against her. According to Pitt, they had an agreement that said neither of them could sell their shares to outsiders without the other’s permission, so the sale was a breach of that agreement.

According to Angelina Jolie, negotiations broke down because Brad insisted she sign a confidentiality agreement that would prevent her from discussing certain confidential matters.

Many unpleasant details about the once-famous couple were revealed during the contentious legal battle. Pitt claimed that Jolie sold the shares to Yuri Shefler out of spite, hurting Pitt’s business interests in the process. Jolie, on the other hand, claimed that Pitt was ignorant of business, farming, and fiscal responsibility.

A “temporary administrator” for the winery estate has been proposed by both parties in the latest development. This third party will assess the winery’s efficiency and help Brad Pitt and Nouvel LLC, owned by tycoon Yuri Shefler, reach an agreement. The purpose of this meeting is to identify areas of agreement regarding the operation of the Chateau Miraval wine brand.

The 1300 acre Chateau Miraval estate was Brad and Angelina’s original 2008 purchase. They started working with the Perrin family of southern Rhone valley famed winemakers to produce organic wines in 2013. Their rosé became an instant hit, and it is now widely considered to be among the best wines in the world.

The family of six attended the couple’s wedding at the estate in 2014. But in 2016, after an incident on a flight from France to the US in which Angelina accused Brad of mistreating his wife and children, she filed for divorce.

In addition to their ongoing legal battle over Brad Pitt’s estate, Angelina Jolie and Pitt have been locked in a bitter custody battle over their children since their separation. In a major development, the parties to the winery estate dispute have reached a settlement that should put an end to their protracted legal battle.
