A short intro to Riquewihr, France, one of the most beautiful villages in Alsace, with its cobbled streets and timbered houses, filmed a few days before Christmas 2019.
As one of the few places in Alsace not to be damaged during WWII, it still has kept all of its medieval charm, with houses dating from the 15th century.
Riquewihr is on the famous “Wine Road” of Alsace and it is well known for its Riesling and other great wines. You can go on wine tasting for free in the many wine shops of the village.
Riquewihr is just 11 km (7 miles) from Colmar and easy to reach by car from Strasbourg as a day trip, along with other famous villages of the area, such as Eguisheim and Ribeauvillé.
