Lyrics:
Tell me what it’s like
I won’t try to argue
nor to explain
cause there’s nothing to explain
I will never be the kind of man you want
and even if I tried
I’d let it fall
cause I never take any chances
even when it rains
and my life is spinning
but I realize what it feels
when you try to delude me
to let me know how it is
then you’re gonna know
that I, that we
we’re wine and suspenders
we’re passionate story tellers
cause I wanna see the ocean for the last time
I cannot speak, I can’t even try to breathe
and I never take anything of it
cause I’m just as good
and now don’t refrain
‘cause now is the best time that we gift
cause I never take any chances
even when it rains
and my life is spinning
but I realize what it feels
when you try to delude me
to let me know how it is
then you’re gonna know
that I, that we
we’re wine and suspenders
we’re passionate story tellers
and now I’m missing home,
I’m trying to breathe, but I understand
there’s no place for me
just like a music box
a melody
the finest mechanism your hypocrisy
Tell me what it’s like
I won’t try to argue
nor to explain
cause there’s nothing to explain
Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It represents the numeric value of one and it is often associated to the concepts of origin, birth and creation. It is identified by the symbol of an equilateral triangle crossed by a segment.
Alephant are founded in 2013, by the brothers Pierandrea Palumbo (vocals and bass) and Enrico Palumbo (vocals and guitar) and their childhood friend Marco Ferro (drums). Their intention is to create simple, melodic and effective music, but at the same time rich and never banal. In 2015, they released their first EP “Alephant” and in 2016, the two singles: Juliette and Tarifa. 2017 is a special year: Enrico moves to France and Pier in California and the trio starts working on writing their first album “Whole.” at a distance.
The composition of the ten tracks is inspired by themes such as the ocean, travel, rebirth, strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea that bathe the beaches of California and the French Riviera. Back in Italy in 2018, they started working on the arrangements and production of “Whole.“. Thanks to the extraordinary work of the producer Andrea De Carlo, “Whole.” was born much richer in sounds and harmonies than the band’s original sounds and in 2019 the indispensable contribution of Luca Del Fiore’s guitar joined the Alephant.
