Ah, the fine dining restaurant – where the portions are small, the prices are large, and the waiters are always impeccably dressed. It’s the kind of place where you need a dictionary just to order, and the bread basket costs more than your first car. But hey, at least the napkins are made of actual cloth and not recycled paper, right? And let’s not forget the joy of trying to discreetly Google how to pronounce “foie gras” before the waiter arrives. All in all, it’s a wonderful experience – and Cilantro actually has a fairly reasonably priced Friday Executive Lunch at “only” RM248 nett.

Seriously though, I really enjoyed the food here. I’ve read many mediocre reviews about Cilantro and I didn’t have high expectations coming in but I loved everything here. The Japanese-French cuisine resonates with me and I love the liberal and powerful seasoning hand of the chef.

Cilantro also recently won a Michelin Selected award!
