Brad Pitt’s alleged abuse by Angelina Jolie is detailed in a countersuit.

She alleges that he assaulted her and their children on a plane in 2016 in court documents related to a legal dispute over a French winery they once co-owned.
Tuesday, Angelina Jolie filed a cross-complaint against her ex-husband Brad Pitt, providing additional information regarding what she had previously referred to in court documents as his abusive behavior aboard a private plane in 2016 that resulted in the breakdown of their marriage.

Lawyers for Ms. Jolie claimed that Mr. Pitt’s demand that she sign a nondisclosure agreement that would have prevented her from discussing Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children outside of court caused negotiations to sell her share of the company to fail. The dispute arose from a winery the well-known Hollywood actors once co-owned.
She goes on to detail a protracted verbal and physical outburst that occurred in September 2016 during a flight from France to California that Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their six children were taking. The filing claims that Pitt “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her,” “choked one of the children and struck another in the face,” and “poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.” Federal authorities, who have authority over air travel, looked into the incident but decided against filing any charges. A few days following her flight, Ms. Jolie filed for divorce.

Anne Kiley, a divorce attorney for Mr. Pitt, claimed that although Mr. Pitt had admitted some guilt in the past, he would not accept responsibility for wrongdoing.

Ms. Kiley added that Ms. Jolie’s attorney had sent Mr. Pitt’s lawyers a preliminary proposal to try to settle the case, and that one of the terms had been a restriction that neither party could disparage the other in public, except in court. The divorce settlement negotiations this year were separate from the negotiations over the winery. Ms. Kiley claimed that while Mr. Pitt’s side agreed to consider the term, Ms. Jolie’s side did not bring up the nondisparagement proposition once more in response.
The separation of Ms. Jolie and Mr. Pitt has dragged on for years as a result of a legal dispute over their children’s custody and, more recently, a legal action brought by Mr. Pitt regarding the Château Miraval winery in France that the pair purchased more than ten years ago. This year, Mr. Pitt sued his ex-wife, alleging that she sold her share of the business to a Stoli Group subsidiary without his consent, infringing on his “contractual rights.”
