French cuisine has always been a mystery to me, aside from French fries I can honestly say, French food has never really crossed my mind. After years of passing by one of Downtown Birmingham’s most noted restaurants, we decided to give Bistro 218 a try. In an effort to be unbiased and fair, I’m going to say that Bistro 218 was truly just not for me. Now, this isn’t to say that Bistro 218 doesn’t severe up high-quality food and reasonable fine dining prices, but it is a remark on my experience at the Birmingham establishment.
I must begin by saying that as it pertains to service and ambiance Bistro 218 is a winner. We were served properly and respectfully, but we don’t just spend our hard-earned money for good service and lighting… we want delicious food and drinks. And, for us, Bistro 218 only gave us 70% of that. From hard bread to overly breaded okra, Bistro 218 missed the mark for us. Check out our review for more details.
