In early April 2022 Duke and I travelled along the French west coast from the Spanish border up into Brittany. We picked up a rental car in Bordeaux. We bought wine in Saint Emilion and stayed in a nearby chateau surrounded by vineyards. That night there was frost and we got to see how they deal with frost when the vines are just starting to bud.
From Saint Emilion we went to Saintes and then Rochefort. We explored Île d’Oleron and saw some mussel farms. We drove across the Passage du Gois, visited the Pont Transbordeur and ended up in Moutiers-en-Retz. Along the way we ate at some fantastic French restaurants.
Duke and I spent seven weeks in the Spring of 2022 traveling through Spain, Portugal and France.
