This classic French lemon tart is found at French patisseries and cafés year-round. Served cool, with sharp lemon filling, it contrasts nicely with only slightly sweet pastry. It makes a great dessert as well as with a cup of coffee, any time.
Here are the ingredients for pastry:
– 250 g or 2 cups of flour
– 120 g or 1 stick of butter
– 1 dl or 0,1 litre or 0,4 cups of water
– 1 egg yolk
– A pinch of salt
– Ground cinnamon to taste (optional)
– 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional, for this who really like it sweet!)
Ingredients for lemon filling:
– 3-4 fresh and juicy lemons
– 150 g or 0,75 cups of sugar
– 60 g or half stick of butter
– 4 medium eggs
– Turmeric powder for more vibrant color (optional)
