When they are young, they remind us of the peach and its peel. It is responsible for a chemical compound: ethyl octanoate. It is the main compound that the Chardonnay grape has and contributes to the wines made with it. Also, they are wines with many acidities and are very fresh. In addition, they are usually wined with a specific alcoholic strength and body and structure due to the glycerin they contain.
In many cases, sweet notes are detected in these wines. It should be borne in mind that, if we compare Chardonnay wines with Airén wines, Chardonnay wines have golden tones, compared to the greenish ones of the Airén. When you serve them by the glass, they stand out in that regard compared to other wines.
Within Chardonnay wines, other types of wine are also made: wood. Fermentation usually ends the last stages in wood, typically French oak, retaining its aromatic potential. Still, it gives it spicy notes of French oak.
