French Onion Chicken Skillet || Quick & Easy || Dinner Recipes

Today’s recipe is for another one of those speedy dinner recipes! French onion chicken skillet is guaranteed to be one of your families favorite dinners because it is so savory with white wine, beef broth and loaded with caramelized onions! The chicken is sliced thin which makes it fry up fast and still keep its tender juiciness.

Ingredients:
2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
3 Sliced white onions (not too thin)
2 cloves Garlic
Herb de Provence
Fresh Thyme
salt & pepper
1/2 cup beef stock
1 Tablespoon Oil
3 Tbs butter
1 cup shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese
1/4 cup white wine
Start this dish by slicing your chicken breasts so they are nice and thin.
Season them very well with the herbs, salt and pepper.
Place the oil and butter into your pan and fry the chicken until its fully cooked thru. To know exactly if the chicken is done, stick a thermometer into the breast so it reads 160 degrees.
Remove the chicken from the pan and place it to the side.
Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and add the onions. You want to saute these onions about 20 minutes until they are deep golden color and caramelized.
Next add the crushed garlic cloves and the white wine. Allow the alcohol to cook out of the wine a minute or two then add the beef broth. Season this mixture with some pepper and fresh thyme and allow it to simmer a few minutes.
Place the chicken back into the pan and nestle it into the onions.
Top with cheese and either cover the skillet to melt the cheese or place it under the broiler.
