If you “hunger” for something different on a romantic date night, Greater Palm Springs is the right place to be. Any and all of these five dining hot-spots will inspire you to kiss and tell… and eat, of course!
JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Palm Desert
Our first “Kiss & Tell” dining spot is the JW Marriot Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. This expansive luxury resort comes with plenty of intimate corners for togetherness, as well as several romantic dining options. First board a gondola that traverses the waterways and get some snuggle time on the way to one of the resort’s restaurants. There’s something extra sweet about the unexpected water ride through this beautiful desert playground. Choose your romantic repast from fresh fish delicacies to knife-twirling chefs at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse. Or head to the lobby sushi bar and grab chopsticks for two to dive into the signature Momo Sake roll. It should be called the mojo-sake! It’s got it going on!
Tack Room Tavern, Indio
For an afternoon of amazing food washed down with icy beers, saddle up for a date at the rustically sexy Tack Room Tavern in Indio. This hidden gem can be found on the grounds of the Empire Polo Club. The décor with a definite polo influence is now ambiance for your love life. Make sure to try the local beer on tap; La Quinta Brewing Company’s IPA is a sip of liquid love. And as far as the food goes, it will steal your heart. Visit on Friday or Saturday night when live music promises to rev up the romance factor.
Lavender Bistro, La Quinta
Everything is coming up shades of purple at the ultra-romantic Lavender Bistro in the intimate village of La Quinta. This twinkling wonderland is sweetly sexy, especially on the outdoor patio where you’ll be surrounded by blooming flowers and sparkles. Put your lips on their Lavender Botanical Martini with house-made lavender simple syrup and a liquor made from violets, then feast on a roasted honey brine pork chop.
Europa, Palm Springs
Our next spot is proposal worthy Europa restaurant in Palm Springs. Europa is truly a hideaway that is more than just romantic—it is enchanting. It is love at first sight: draped tables, crackling fire, moon-lit patios and almost too pretty to eat plates of food. What else can you possibly ask? Perhaps, the wonderful love songs of a harp that also underscores the fine dining. Ask for a table by the main fireplace and take your time. In fact, you may want to stay the night at the equally romantic inn there, Villa Royale.
Peaks Restaurant, Mt. San Jacinto
At the next spot, jackets are required—warm ones—because you are heading up the mountain on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for dessert. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is amazing all the time, but at night it’s breathtaking. At the tip top of Mt. San Jacinto is Peaks Restaurant where the views are beyond stunning. Take a table in the Crow’s Nest where you’ll be perched even higher up. Make sure you pry your eyes away from the sparkling lights below to share some eye contact across the table. Just a note: the decadent desserts here are a sweet ending to any day.
