What a great quick and easy smoking recipe, smoked French onion dip!! This makes a great dip all by itself, or as a BBQ side dish.

You can smoke this on a pellet grill smoker, like the Pit Boss 1100 Pro I have, or any other brand. If you don’t have a smoker, you can skip the smoking step and still have great homemade French onion dip!

Steps:
Dice the onions and them and the butter into a cast iron skillet.

Smoke with your favorite wood at 250 degrees for at least 1 hour, more time will produce more smoked flavor.
After smoking, bring the onions to a high heat for 10 minutes while stirring them.
After the then minutes reduce eat to a Low to Med-Low and Sautee, stirring regularly, until the onions reduce in size and are fully caramelized – about 40 minutes.
