The winery is located in the prestigious area of Les Gres at the northern end of Chateauneuf-du-Pape with old fields on either side of the border, and the family makes old-school and traditional wines that have been manipulated as little as possible at all.
Jerome Grieco is one of the most hands-off and non-manipulative winemakers in the area, and thus he is at the same time both ultra-traditional and a bit post-modern in his approach. He only uses whole clusters and ferments and matures his wines in cement tanks to let the wine express its terroir as cleanly and honestly as possible. The wines get no wood in the process, and they are filtered very gently but are not clarified before being bottled and released.
