Odile, Albert and their son Jean-François work both in the fields and in the cellar of their small vineyard in Alsace. They do pretty much everything themselves, from tending their plants’ fruit until it is ready to be served in a wine lover’s glass.
You could say that the Klee family knows how to make wine. They have been making wine since 1624 from their base in the town of Katzenthal, west of Colmar in the heart of Alsace. Since the founder Urbain Klee came to town four hundred years ago, the winery has been in the family through generation-to-generation transmission. Today, Jean-Francois has taken over responsibility for running the family’s vineyard.
