Join your fellow Duquesne alumni for a virtual version of our wine school with Father John Sawicki, C.S.Sp., Ph.D., featuring wines from the regions of the Spiritan founders. During the session, he’ll review six wines and share a little history of the Spiritans as well. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of Fr. Sawicki in advance and during the program.
You can participate with as many or as few of the six wines as you choose. This event is FREE to join, although you must register ahead of time. Space is limited to the first 500 registrants. All registrants are responsible for purchasing their own wine, which we have made available through a partnership with Wine ‘Til Sold Out. You may choose which of the wines you wish to purchase and have them delivered to your door! You will receive the special purchase link via email once you have registered for the event.
Prior to the program, you’ll receive via email recommendations from Duquesne University’s Executive Chef Tim Fetter, CEC, CCA, for food pairings, a special wine placemat to print at home, and Father’s tasting notes so you can follow along!
The wines reviewed will include:
Blanc de Noirs Brut AOC Crémant d’Alsace NV Cave de Beblenheim
Domaine Clef de Saint Thomas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pierre Troupel 2018
Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2016 Château de la Grande Gardiole Vieilles Vignes*
Bordeaux Supérieur Réserve Château de Macard 2018
Château Guichot Bordeaux Blanc 2019
Pfaff Cuvée Jupiter Riesling 2019 Alsace
*Please note that this wine has sold out. We have elected to add a seventh wine, a Château Fargueirol Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017. Please know that you do not need all of the wines listed to fully enjoy the virtual wine tasting with Fr. Sawicki, and you can participate with as many or as few wines as you choose.
