Mission Estate was established by a group of French missionaries who sailed to New Zealand in 1830 with little more than their faith and a few vines in Hawke’s Bay in 1851, where vines were planted to produce both sacramental and table wine, and New Zealand’s first winery was born. Currently, they look after their building very well. They have beautiful food and wine served at the table with beautiful scenery, perfect for a romantic date or celebrating your wedding ceremony.
