No damage and looking good. Followed the instructions, plugged it in, and about 1/2 hour later noticed a strange odor in the house.
Traced it to the unit. Unit was working with the fans on but no cooling inside of it. Unplugged the unit due to health concerns.
Immediately called the Zephyr contact number, registered the product, and the help desk person sent a service request to a local to our city appliance repair company.
A technician from there arrived the next week, and after a short inspection, discovered that one of the copper tubes to the compressor was broken. See attached photo.
No explanation for this could be given. It was described by the technician as a “system failure” and he notified his office of this including the photo.
A few days later I called the repair company and was advised that Zephyr had been notified and that an answer was forth coming. I then called the Amazon help number, explained the situation, and asked for a new replacement unit.
