Arran Sauternes Cask Finish turns my oppinion of Arran distillery around.
Arran Sauternes Cask Finish has been finished in sauternes casks made from French oak. French oak is probably the one that gives most spice to a whisky and in the case of Arran Sauternes Cask Finish it really balances out the white sugar sweetness of the sauternes wine.
Arran is usually a very light citrusy whisky but the Arran Sauternes Cask Finish have both good depth and complexity.
