Our 2019 Gemme Cellars Merlot was made with sustainably farmed grapes from Lodi. This wine benefited from a long maceration to increase extraction. It has a dense color and a powerful nose that highlights fruity components like cherry, blackberry and black currant. The aromas gain considerable intensity in the finish. The alcohol is fairly high at 14.5%, but it is balanced by the fruity attack. Grape tannins are present in the mid-palate and linger to the finish. There is no oak influence in this wine, so the bright fruits truly shine. There are also notes of dry herbs, spices and smoke in the finish.

This is the first late harvest dessert wine that we have produced from a blend of 52% Zinfandel and 48% Petite Sirah. The grapes were grown on the hillside of Suisun Valley, east of Napa. Natural berry dehydration provides a unique intensity in the mouthfeel. This wine develops characters of prune, blackberry and strawberry. In the mouth, it offers notes of prune and strawberry, as well as raisin and licorice. After filtration and bottling, this sweet red wine tastes drier than it really is. In a few months, the initial burst of tannins will dissipate and expose even more sweet fruit characters.

Gemme Cellars Topazo is a dry white wine made from a blend of 62% French Colombard, 25% Gewurztraminer, 8% White Riesling and 5% Chenin Blanc varietals. This wine starts with flowery fragrances of daffodil, mandarin and honeysuckle, followed by fruity aromas like lemon and orange. There are slight grassy notes in the finish. This wine has pronounced mineral qualities carried in the mouth with flinty notes and stone fruit aromas. This wine is light-bodied, refreshing and crisp in the mouth with clean lines.

Our Gemme Cellars Citrinia (pronounced sitreenia) is a blend of 42% French Colombard, 35% Chardonnay, 12% Thompson, 8% Gewurztraminer and 3% Chenin Blanc. This wine begins with sweet fragrances of honey and fruity aromas of lemon, lychee and mango. This wine has mineral qualities in the nose and mouth with some flint and a slightly chalky sensation. This wine is light-bodied, refreshing and crisp. It is an off-dry blend that showcases its sweetness toward the finish.
