Hey Guys!! Here is a real easy recipe for you ultimate weekend brunch, decadent brioche french toast with fruits rich in antioxidants and a drizzle of maple syrup. Try this recipe and let us know your feedback in the comments section.
INGREDIENTS:
2 – 3 Brioche bread or regular bread slices
2 large eggs
1/3rd cup full fat milk or heavy cream
2 tbsp brown or regular sugar
2 tsp cinnamon (reduce it if you don’t like that level of spice)
1/8th tsp nutmeg freshly grated (optional)
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla essence
STEPS:
1. In a wide bowl add 2 large eggs, , milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla essence and whisk really well to avoid any lumps.
2. Now heat an iron skillet or sauté pan on medium. Add a generous amount of butter.
3. Dunk the bread in the mix and immediately place it on the pan. Let it cook till its golden brown and crispy and flip it.
4. Once cooked, transfer it to a bowl and start with the garnish.
5. You can literally add any fruits of your choice – strawberry, raspberry, black berry, blue berry, cherries or bananas or even a berry compote. I have used fresh blueberries here
6. I have added a bit of unsalted butter and dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled a bit of maple syrup. You can even go overboard with your toppings by adding whipped cream or custard and it just gets tastier as we haven’t added much sugar in the egg mix.
