Finally the day has come! After just over a week of insane rushing to set up my new winery in my garage I invited a couple of friends over to help with the crush. A few hours earlier I received just under 250 kg (550 lbs) of white Trebbiano grapes from Italy (and 4 boxes of red Sangiovese grapes – 36 kg, 80 lbs ). In this video we use a hand crank crusher destemmer to gently crush the grapes and then destem them. The crushed grapes (now call must) fall to the plastic bins below. Not seen in the video is the transfer of the must into a 120 L blue food grade barrel in preparation for pressing (next video). I ran out of battery and was unable to film the red grapes being crushed. The footage has been boiled down into 8 minutes, though the crush lasted a couple of hours. Enjoy!
The channel discusses how to make chateau style wines from grapes, including details on fermentation, general wines, wine making, wine making from grapes, brewing, wine making techniques and much more.
