This video will show you how to build a DIY wine bottle tiki torch in less than 30 minutes.
Plus, you’ll be able to place the tiki torch on any outdoor table because it’s weighted with sand.
The first step is to drink wine… or beer….
Or just get a bottle from a friend!!
That option is certainly cheaper.
Buy a bronze flange and wrap it with teflon tape. The flange needs to fit inside the bottle. The teflon tape makes it a tighter fit.
I explain the flange a bit more in the video.
Fill the wine bottle half full with sand. Use a funnel.
Then fill the bottle with tiki fuel. I like BiteFighter since it repels mosquitos.
Feed a tiki wick through the flange and insert it into the bottle. The wick needs to rest on top of the sand.
Trim the wick so it’s 1 inch above the flange. Allow the wick to absorb the fuel for 10-15 minutes and then light your tiki torch.
All the materials should cost about $10-$20. Yes, you could buy a cheesy tiki torch for about $4 but it won’t be as cool or table top friendly.
