We are leveling up the look at Grenache with some truly great grenache from the 2010 vintage in Chateauneuf du Pape. According to the Wine Spectator it is too early to open these wines but I am disobeying their advice to see where this wine is at after 10 years.
Chateauneuf du Pape is a well known region in the Southern Rhone Valley of France. The wines here are GSM blends with Grenache as the lead grape and Syrah and Mourvedre providing support.
The wine tasted in this epsiode is 80% Grenache and the details are below:
2010 Jean Pierre Boisson
Domaine du Pere Caboche
Chateauneuf du Pape
Southern Rhone, France
Cheers!!
