Ribeauville is a small French village in the Alsace region of North Eastern France. Ribeauville is located 17 kilometres north of Colmar and 75 kilometres south of Strasbourg.
Ribeauville is known for its ancient walls and picturesque medieval houses. In true Alsace style, the wooden houses are in brights attractive colours.
Near the town are the ruins of three famous castles, Saint-Ulrich, Girsberg and Haut-Ribeaupierre. You can access the castles via a walking trail from the town.

The main tourist street in Ribeauville is full of wine houses, restaurants and souvenir shops. The restaurants serve amazing local produce and Alsace food specialties such as Choucroute Garnie and Tarte Flambee. All this is best washed down with the local Gewurztraminer wine.
Ribeauville is a popular destination for wine lovers. There are vineyards surrounding the town on all sides. Ribeauville is part of the famous Alsace wine route that runs through the region. The Vineyards surrounding the town formed a wine bottling co-operative named Cave de Ribeauvillé. The vineyards combine their harvest and release wine under the Cave de Ribeauville label. Cave de Ribeauville is one of the oldest in France started in 1895
