In the Parisian suburb of Nogent-sur-Marne a river winds its way through a landscape of beautiful homes, leafy promenades, and iconic remnants of 19th century Paris that were saved from the scrapyard (a Baltard pavilion from Les Halles, the original Pont des Arts, etc.).

It was also a hub of the classic “guinguette” watering holes, made even more famous by a 1943 French song touting the charms of the town’s “little white wine”.
