2014 Ideology Reserve Oak Knoll Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

A reserve Cabernet made from all estate-owned fruit located right next to Dry Creek and at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain Range. The soil is part of one of the ten large alluvial fan belts in Napa Valley. That basically means that the soil is mostly gravel and sand stemming from a river that used to flow through the area many years ago. The soil naturally drains the vineyards and creates some of the best terroir flavors in all of Napa Valley.
The wine is very full-bodied with notes of dark red fruits, dark raspberry, and plum. It does spend 24 months in an assortment of French Oak barrels which is where it gains that next level complexity of rich vanilla, baking spice, and cedar. If you plan on opening one now, we suggest decanting it at least 30 minutes before consuming, even longer could be better.
This wine will drink its best in a couple years, so lay a couple down and come back to them in the future.
