Grown in the stony volcanic loams of Calistoga’s hillsides, it’s produced by a family-owned winery for their $150/bottle program and carefully aged for two years in French oak. It’s an absolutely fantastic example of what we do best, and a worthy successor to our previous “Centennial” releases. I’m so proud to offer you this wine.
Lot 700 opens with an incredibly perfumed nose of bright red cherry, raspberry and acacia flowers emanating from the glass underpinned by a mélange of olive, dark earth, and chocolate. On the palate, well integrated tannins make for an incredibly smooth mouthfeel with balanced acidity. Still a baby, the best is yet to come from this wine. With a healthy decant today, you’ll find it eminently quaffable and incredibly approachable. For those with patience, the best is yet to come.
