The beautiful home that Timothy Leif “T. J.” Oshie – ice hockey right winger for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League bought with wife Lauren Cosgrove is a dreamy french escape.
The home that the Oshies share with their three children – Lyla, Leni, & Campbell in McLean, Virginia has five-bedrooms, six-bathrooms, beautiful bronze fixtures, and lush plants in cream-colored rooms. To realize their dream, the Oshies hired Marie Flanigan an award-winning interior designer.
The entrance to the home is grand and light-filled, featuring a brass-toned lantern from Currey and Company that shines on a round table in pinewood from McGuire. On the side, Drew Doggett’s *Emerson* from his “Sable Island Horses” series is paired with a table from Palecek. The leather ottomans come from Lee Industries.
The gardens contribute to the sense of romance, featuring climbing roses and hedges. The back of the house features multisectioned seating—perfect for entertaining T.J.’s NHL team and their families. The teakwood furniture includes chairs from RH and tables from Serena and Lily.
In the kitchen, the oakwood beams match the oakwood cabinets, which were commissioned from O’Brien Harris in Chicago. The island is decorated with iron-toned lanterns from Urban Electric and rattan-framed chairs from Palecek. The 12-foot table from the Joseph Company was custom designed for the dining room’s dimensions. The table and the chairs from RH have been centered on an Oushak rug from Creative Flooring.
The master bedroom—which includes a terrace through the French doors—reflects a coastal mood, thanks to the hanging light in plaster from Tara Shaw and the distressed-wood slabs.
The bedroom features a bed from the Joseph Company and bedside tables from Bernhardt Interiors.
The girls’ bedroom is dressed in Phillip Jeffries’ Manila Hemp wallpaper in Tea Rose. It features a set from RH on a rug from One Kings Lane. The girls’ bathroom is sweetly decked in Anewall’s Parisian Street scene, which is designed to be installed like wallpaper.
The Oshies—Lauren, and T.J. have three children and two dogs—have resided in this five-bedroom manse in McLean, Virginia, since 2017.
