So what is the sun tart? This is a popular and fun French appetiser recipe that has either a savory or sweet filling. In this recipe, I have used an apple compote (stew) as a filling that makes this recipe so easy to accomplish. The only trick to master is twisting the sun rays for which you have to observe the way I do it.
Ingredients for this recipe are very simple, please follow the video and enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 puff pastry dough
3 green apples (Granny Smith)
1/2 of a yellow lemon
20 g non-salted butter
2-3 tbsp sugar
2 sachets of vanilla flavored sugar (or half of a vanilla stick)
3 tbsp almond powder
Egg wash: 1 egg + pinch of salt and 1 tsp milk
1 tbsp of pearly sugar ( for deco)
Optional: zest of green lime
