I bumble my way through cutting a wine barrel in half to make 2 planters.
I used a Bosch jigsaw with a T234X blade and a lennox 1+3/4″ holesaw. The flexible ruler is made by SPI.
On this wine barrel, all of the staves were attached to the hoop by the maker, using some sort of nail. Oddly enough, this is “Hungarian Oak”, which I had never heard of before. Most wineries around here claim 100% French or 100% American oak.
