Todays wine is from McLaren Vale, South Australia. III Associates – Four score Grenache. The vines used to produce this delicious Grenache are over 80 years old and it shows. Ripe cherry, berry fruit and a touch of spice that swishes around on the palate. Lovely soft tannins that are really all singing along with 4 years on it. Matured in new and unused French oak. Reminds me why I have always loved this wine and Mclaren Vale Old Vine Grenache in general.
Today I will be pairing it with the classic and also soulful, Skull Snaps from the album released in the early 70’s. The group famous for being an ambiguous funk band that only really lasted for about 3 years. The album is filled with such goodness but today’s song is My Hang Up Is You.
So funk and Friday for the soul. Sit back and turn the music up and sip the wine in your hand. 🍷
