Today we are looking at how to pronounce the name of a famous wine brand, but also an expression in French that relates to a situation where three people live together, and when it’s kind of understood that one of them is having a sexual relationship with the other two, or all together. As per why this brand of California wine is called ‘Ménage a Trois’ you may wonder?! This is how they explain it: “When our boldly curious founders decided to “experiment threely” and blend together a luscious threesome of distinctively different grapes into one wine, they knew it needed a name that would live up to this innovative, provocative blend. Ménage à Trois makes an extensive range of wines, with several iconic red blends including one called Folie A Deux, understand “two people doing something crazy”, a Folly between two people, maybe a Wine Folly, at least they’re not three this time. Other wines include a Bourbon Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon, Silk Red Blend, Midnight red, Decadence, Luscious red, Lavish red and a range of varietal wines from Merlot, Zinfandel, Malbec, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, and I guess a few more… etc.
