I love fine Champagne. Krug is one of the major champagne houses, founded in Reims, France in 1843. They are known for their Grande Cuvee blends ( which feature a minimum of 120 different wines from at least 10 different years. Krug’s founder Joseph Krug developed the Grande Cuvee to simply offer the best champagne each year, regardless of the current vintages available.
I think it’s cool to learn about what I am drinking and Krug puts something called the Krug iD on each bottle. Using the Krug app (or their website) you can enter the Krug iD and find out the story the bottle you are about to drink. It tells you everything about the origin, the grapes, the wines and vintages that are used to make it. Grande Cuvees take 20 years to produce, including six years of aging.
The Krug app also gives you suggested recipes and food to pair with the specific champagne you have and even music that will go well with it.There’s also storing and serving info. You can save and track your Krug bottles on the app and even find local retailers.
