How to make the best breakfast hotdog ever! You might be asking yourself how do you take the American classic hotdog and make it better? You BREAKFAST it! The OKAY COOKS Breakfast Hotdog recipe is packed full of breakfast flavor including a bacon wrapped hotdog, french toasted hotdog bun, crispy hash browns, fried egg, and a signature sauce. Buckle up and join us for a beautiful brunch bonanza. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
– Hotdogs
– Hotdog buns
– Bacon (not thick cut)
– Eggs (1 per bun needing French Toasting & 1 per dog)
– Milk ¼ cup
– Maple Syrup x 2 tbsp
-Cinnamon x 1 tbsp
– Hashbrowns (frozen or fresh)
– Butter
– Oil
– Ketchup x 2 tbsp
– Sriracha x 2 tbsp
– Agave x 2 tbsp (maple syrup can be a substitute)
Cooking Steps:
1 – Heat your oven to 400 degrees F.
2 – Wrap each hotdog with one piece of bacon and bake for 13-25 mins, depending on the level of crispy’ness you desire.
3 – Prepare your french toast blend. 1 egg for each bun you need to french toast. Here are the ingredients for four buns: 4 eggs, ¼ cup of milk, 2 tbsp of maple syrup, and 1 tbsp of cinnamon. Whisk and dip the inside of each bun in the egg bath and cook on a medium heat pan with 1 tbsp of butter.
4 – Cook your hashbrowns in a pan set to medium/high heat with 1 tbsp of oil and 1 tbsp of butter, also until desired crispy’ness has been delivered.
5 – Cook an egg for each hotdog. We fried ours over medium and added a little salt and pepper after they were removed from the pan.
6 – Blend your sauce which includes 2 tbsp of ketchup, sriracha, and agave. Feel free to substitute the agave for maple syrup if you don’t have that agave niche niche.
7 – Assemble in this order: French Toast Bun, Bacon Wrapped Hotdog, lite layer of Hash Browns, Egg, and desired amount of Sauce.
8 – Enjoy!
