From the owner/winemaker of Porter Creek Vineyards:
I would like to share an opportunity that has arisen with a friend of mine in burgundy France. This is the region where I studied, and has a tremendous influence on everything we do at Porter Creek.
My friend Francois Morey is opening a small tasting room and bottle shop in the little village of Auxey-Duresses in Burgundy. He grew up with uncles on both sides of the family making wine in wineries on a similar scale to Porter Creek. He has a complete education in wine production, however has been working for a number of years as a Courtier (which is a person to taste wine for living), and helps wineries source and sell grapes, unfinished wine and bottled wines. He also worked harvest with me back in 2003.
The wines of Burgundy can be so compelling, yet so complicated to select. Furthermore, the prices generally go from somewhat expensive to king’s ransom. Francois, has put together two options of mixed cases, all from producers that he knows very well, and who produce wines of relative value within their category.
So if you are interested in tasting some of the wines that inspired mine, you can actually buy wines directly from him and have them shipped without the tariffs or the VAT tax. Any orders need to be put in this week (by May 8th) because they can’t ship during the summer months. We may sent something out again in the Fall with some different options. Sincerely,
Alex Davis
