Deliciously decadent French toast crumble or casserole – a make in advance recipe that is perfect for a crowd or get together. Assemble the night before, toss it into the oven and that’s all there is too it! This dish is so much easier than typical French toast and it includes an outrageously delicious golden brown crisp topping.

Ingredients-
(For the Custard Mixture)
7 Eggs
1 loaf of Challah Bread (French bread or sourdough also work)
½ Cup Heavy Cream
2 Cups Whole Milk
¾ Cup Sugar
1 Tbs Vanilla Extract
(For the Crumble)
½ Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon
½ Cup Flour
¼ Tsp Salt
1 Stick of Butter (Cold)
Method –
Cut bread into cubes and evenly place into a 9×13 pan. In a bowl mix together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar and vanilla. Pour over the bread making sure that each piece get’s some of the mixture.
Cover the bread with saran wrap and refrigerate overnight.
For the crumble – mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt into a bowl. Cut in pieces of the butter and mix together with a fork or pastry cutter. When it becomes crumbly place into a plastic bag and refrigerate over night also.
In the morning, take the pan and plastic bag out when ready to bake – sprinkle the crumble over the bread.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes with aluminum foil and a further 20 – 30 minutes with the foil off until golden brown on the top.
Serve with maple syrup and enjoy!
