Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
6 (1-inch thick) slices
French bread
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon brandy-based orange liqueur
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Cup Strawberries (optional)

Directions:
1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.

2. Remove crusts from bread, and arrange in the baking dish in a single layer. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, orange brandy, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover, and chill at least 8 hours, or overnight.

3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove the dish from the refrigerator, and bring it to room temperature.

4. Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven until puffed and lightly browned.

Banana Bread French Toast Recipe

Ingredients:
1 French Toast Recipe
8 slices Banana Bread
Butter
Maple syrup

Directions:

1. Whisk together ingredients from French toast recipe. Dip slices of banana bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well-coated.

2. Melt butter in a large skillet or on a griddle. Place dipped banana bread slices in skillet or on the griddle and cook until golden browned on each side, about 2-3 minutes.

3. Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven until ready to serve, but no longer than about 30 minutes.

4. Serve with maple syrup.

Ham & Cheese in a French Toast

Ingredients:

1/2 loaf soft French bread; cut into 12 (1/2-inch-thick) slices
6 slices cooked ham (each slice is about 1/4-inch thick and 1.2 ounces)
6 slices Cheddar Cheese
6 eggs; slightly beaten
2 cups of milk
1 tsp Dijon mustard

Directions:

1. Spray 2-quart (11-inch x 7-inch) baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Place 6 slices of French bread in a single layer on the bottom of the baking dish. Top each bread with ham and Cheddar cheese slices. Top each with remaining slices French bread, creating a sandwich.

3. Whisk together, in a medium bowl, eggs, milk, and Dijon mustard. Pour mixture slowly overstuffed French bread. Cover; refrigerate 6 hours or overnight.

4. Heat oven to 350° F. Bake, uncovered, 50-55 minutes or until golden brown and knife inserted in center come out clean.

Banana Bread

Ingredients:

2 to 3 very ripe bananas, peeled (about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups mashed)
1/3 cup melted butter, unsalted or salted
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup sugar (1/2 cup if you would like it less sweet, 1 cup if sweeter)
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), and butter a 4×8-inch loaf pan.

2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.

3. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour.

4. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350°F (175°C), or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.

5. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let cool completely before serving. Slice and serve. (A bread knife helps to make slices that aren’t crumbly.)
