Delicious vegan French toast recipe. No egg banana is used instead
Ingredients:
Bread such as french or sourdough
Batter
1 medium banana (ripe)
1/2 cup non dairy milk
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
pinch of black pepper
Carmelized Apples
3 medium apples (I used gala)
3 Tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
3 Tbsp non dairy milk
dash of cinnamon
Blend all ingredients listed under batter and place in a bowl big enough to dip your bread into.
Heat skillet on medium/medium high heat.
Add oil
Dip bread until fully coated
Let excess batter drip off before placing in pan.
Cook for approx 5 min on each side (or until golden brown)
In a separate pan cook apples over medium heat.
Once they start to soften add sugar and cinnamon.
Let cook for 1-2 minutes
Add milk and continue to cook until apples are fully softened.
If you want more of a sauce, add more milk, cinnamon, and sugar until desired consistency
Layer french toast plate and scoop apples over it. Drizzle maple syrup over the top before serving.
