Let’s make our way towards Western Europe and visit the country that is well known for its own unique style with respect to culture, literature, food & clothes. Let’s know more about Francia Occidentalis or as we know it – France

In total land area, France is the largest country in the European Union. Well, this country was never colonized and instead, France colonized a majority of countries of the World. July 14th is celebrated as the National day. French is the official language of this nation while Paris is the capital of France. Emmanuel Macron is the current President. You would find three colors in the national flag of France, which are white, red & blue. They represent liberty, equality, and fraternity, which were the ideals of the French revolution.

You would be amazed to know that France, which is famous as a romantic getaway, is also the World’s most depressed nation? Yes!! Studies reveal that it has the highest number of depressed people in the world!!

Telecommunication, shipbuilding, civil engineering, textile, automobiles & aerospace are the main industries of this country. Tourism also plays an important part in strengthening the economy. France exports pharmaceuticals, aircraft & automobiles and spacecraft to the rest of the world.

Apart from Wine & cheese, this nation is known all over the world for its tourist attractions. Visitors are attracted by historic cities, beautiful countryside and good weather. Chateau de Chenonceau, Le Puy-en-Velay, Nimes Roman monuments, Camargue, Vieux Lyon, Etretat Cliffs, Strasbourg Old Town, Palace of Fontainebleau, Chartres Cathedral, Mont Saint-Michel, Chamonix valley and the world-famous Eiffel Tower are some of the most beautiful sites you can visit and fall in love. French cuisine in itself is a wholesome culture trip.

Some of the famous local dishes to die for are Foie Gras, Cassoulet, Basque-style Chicken, Tartiflette, Ratatouille, Pot-au-feu, Flemish Carbonnade, Quiche Lorraine & Raclette. Apart from this, the French prefer wine along with and after dinner.

French people believe in ‘Live and let live’. They are hard-working yet relaxed and fun-loving. They are also believed to have a great sense of humour.
