This was a really different video to film than I normally do for Unintentionally Frenchified. I tend to do videos about my life in France, culture shocks, views as an expat and tips for living and learning in France. However, with the Coronavirus outbreak hitting Europe hard this last week and going into Quarantine in France for the last couple of days, plus getting a lot of messages from Americans asking what it’s like here in France right now, it didn’t seem right to put out one of my regular videos even if it was already planned.
So i filmed a video yesterday all about Quarantine in France as seen by an American living there. I wanted to give people living outside of France better insights into the timeline leading up to this coronavirus outbreak here, people’s reaction and the general publics opinion over time, how i felt the coronavirus outbreak was handled as an expat living in France, what we are allowed to do during quarantine, and what the mood is like in France during the coronavirus lockdown.
I’m hoping in the least it can educate non frenchies out there about what is going on, and help any frenchies in quarantine, not feel quite so isolated knowing there are a lot of us out there!
