Another wine that my father muled back from Italy in 1991 and sat on and ended up at the bottom of the big wine rack closet. I’ve been slowly opening the old wines now that he’s passed, and I’d say 1 out of 3 is way past its prime. After decanting I let it sit for 4 hours. It’s still bold, black current and anise with a very dry tannic finish. It seems to sell for $400. I don’t think I’d spend that for another bottle, but it was nice to find one that paired well with the bolognese I spent 5 hours making.
