  1. Kukeri Wines Saint Helena Cabernet Franc 2022, Napa Valley

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Light nose of blue and black fruits with light oak, earth and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, peppercorn, tobacco leaf, light green vegetables and light black tea.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Cabernet Franc from Napa Valley is starting to drink beautifully now. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced, soft and elegant.

Needs 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food, like Lamb dishes.

A blend of 87% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. Aged for 30 months in mostly French oak barrels (40% new), with some American oak. A tiny production of only 1,200 bottles.

    14.5% alcohol by volume.

    92 points.

    $50.
